CONCEPT
House 17 begins from a single question: how little wall does a roof need to feel supported? The plan sets a solid service volume against a glazed living volume, then lets a flat concrete slab bridge the two, cantilevering nine hundred millimetres past the structure below it. The result is a section that stays legible from any point in the garden — the roof is always visibly doing the work of a roof.
A single-family house organised around a cantilevered roof plane that reads as one continuous gesture from street to garden.

“The house is not a container for rooms; it is a roof plane, a ground plane, and the air held precisely between them.”
