WHO WE ARE
An independent practice.
ARCANA is an independent architecture studio founded in 2011 and based in Bandung, Indonesia. We work across residential, cultural and institutional projects, from a single-family house to a four-thousand square metre research facility, treating each at the same resolution of care.
HOW WE WORK
One method, every scale.
Every project moves through the same five stages — observe, define, draw, test, build — regardless of scale. We keep teams small and continuous from first sketch to final punch-list, because a drawing loses accuracy every time it changes hands.
RESEARCH
Work that isn't commissioned.
Alongside commissioned work, the studio maintains an ongoing research line into low-carbon concrete mixes, adaptive reuse of colonial-era structures, and passive cooling strategies for tropical climates — published periodically in the studio journal.
COLLABORATION
A fixed set of partners.
We work directly with a fixed group of structural engineers, MEP consultants and a joinery workshop we have used since 2013, treating each as an extension of the design team rather than a downstream contractor.

Sketches, models, samples and drawings.
A running archive of the physical and drawn material produced across every project — not curated, just kept.
